Soundgarden publicarán un nuevo single con motivo del Record Store Day para el que han contado con la brillante artista country Brandi Carlile como vocalista. El single incluirá dos nuevas versiones de ‘Black Hole Sun’ y ‘Searching With My Good Eye Closed’.

Los temas fueron grabados el pasado noviembre en London Bridge Studio de Seattle. Además de Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, Matt Cameron y Carlile, también participaron los gemelos Phil y Tim Hanseroth de la banda de la cantante

El disco será publicado en 12″ el próximo 26 de septiembre, la segunda cita de los tres Record Store Drops programados este año.

No es la primera vez que Carlile se pone en el papel de Cornell, ya que participó en el concierto homenaje al fallecido vocalista del 16 de enero de 2019, interpretando ‘Hunger Strike’ y ‘Black Hole Sun’.

The twins and I met in the late 90’s in a famous Seattle studio called London Bridge. The guy in the picture with me is Rick Parasher (RIP) and he introduced us. Soundgarden were just gods to us back then. Total pioneers and unreachable to us in every way. We went about making our demos and cleaning the studio when we couldn’t afford the bill never knowing that in November of 2019 we would go back to London Bridge and RECORD TWO SONGS WITH THEM!! @chriscornellofficial was as great as a human singer can get and now he’s an angel.
